The Golden Sahara II or Concept Goodyear Golden Sahara II (Golden Sahara, in English) is a concept car futuristic customized car preparer-designer American George Barris, based on Lincoln Capri 1953, presented at the Petersen Motorama show in Los Angeles 1954, and upgraded to Version II in 1956.

accident of his personal 1953 Lincoln Capri, with 200 hp V8 engine
Design is inspired by the jet era and Batmobiles
futuristic 1950s, with glazed Lincoln cockpit
Capri 1953, luxurious interior, interior trim
and gold-plated exteriors, translucent luminous tires
Goodyear, and electronic equipment
avant-garde and partly dummy for the time: piloting controls inspired by aeronautics,
automatic emergency braking based on obstacle sensors, electric door opening,
voice command, radio, stereo system, tape recorder, television, telephone,
cocktail bar
...
It is presented with significant media success in many television
programs of the time.
, then improved in Golden Sahara II version in 1956 (inspired among
other things by the futuristic wave of the time of the
Ford FX-Atmos 1954, Ford Mystery 1955, Lincoln Futura 1955,
Oldsmobile Golden Rocket 1956, and Lincoln premiere 1956...).
Classic Car
It was purchased at auction from its owner in 2018, fully
restored by the automobile museum
Clairmont Collections of Chicago and by Goodyear, then
successfully presented to the Geneva international motor show 2019.
